Matthew Jones

Mr. Matthew Jones is the Managing Director of Derrick Jones Management, bringing over
25 years of experience in education and migration services in New Zealand.

Permanently based in New Zealand with his wife, an Infrastructural Architect, and their daughters, currently pursuing Law and Health Science at the University of Auckland, Matthew has deep personal and professional roots in the country. As a father, he understands firsthand the journey of raising children and supporting their education in New Zealand, from early childhood through to university.

Matthew’s career began in 1999 when he helped a group of 18 nurses from Kerala migrate to New Zealand. He personally guided them through the Nursing Council registration, visa applications, and employment placements. This marked the beginning of Derrick Jones Management, which has since grown into one of New Zealand’s leading consultancy services for nurses and students.

Over the years, Matthew has expanded the company’s focus to support students with counselling, admissions, visa applications, and employment opportunities across New Zealand. Each year, hundreds of nurses and students rely on Derrick Jones Management to start their new life in New Zealand.

Beyond his professional work, Matthew has contributed to the wider Auckland community by serving on boards of educational institutions and participating actively in the Rotary Club. He has witnessed countless families, particularly from the Kerala community, successfully establish themselves as New Zealand and Australian citizens and has guided hundreds of students from India and abroad toward careers in Engineering, Science, Healthcare, Business, Sports, and Arts.
