Study Pathways
AUT offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across five faculties: Business, Economics and Law; Culture and Society; Design and Creative Technologies; Health and Environmental Sciences; and Hospitality and Tourism. AUT's degree programmes include Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Communication Studies, Bachelor of Health Science, Bachelor of Engineering Technology, and Bachelor of Creative Technologies.
AUT Pathway Programmes
International students who do not meet direct entry requirements can access foundation and certificate programmes that lead to first-year undergraduate entry at AUT. These are offered through AUT's own programmes and external pathway providers.
English Language Programmes
AUT offers English language preparation through the AUT Language Institute and external providers, covering academic English, general English, and IELTS preparation.
Admission Requirements
Undergraduate applicants must hold a recognised university entrance qualification equivalent to New Zealand NCEA Level 3 or an approved international equivalent. Specific programmes, such as Health Sciences and Engineering, may have additional prerequisite subject requirements. Postgraduate applicants require a relevant bachelor's degree.
English Language Requirements
IELTS 6.0 overall (no band below 5.5) for most undergraduate programmes; IELTS 6.5 (no band below 6.0) for Health Sciences and postgraduate programmes.
