Study Pathways
UC offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral study across its five colleges. Undergraduate degrees include the Bachelor of Arts, Commerce, Engineering (Hons), Fine Arts, Forestry, Law, Music, and Science. Postgraduate study is available as honours degrees, graduate diplomas, master's degrees, and doctorates.
UC International College (UCIC)
UCIC provides direct pathway programmes into the second year of UC undergraduate degrees. Programmes include the University Transfer Programme in Commerce, Engineering, and Science, designed to equip international students with the academic skills and subject knowledge required for degree-level study at UC.
English Language Programmes
The University of Canterbury offers English language preparation courses to help students meet academic proficiency requirements before entering their chosen undergraduate or postgraduate programme.
Admission Requirements
Undergraduate applicants must hold a recognised university entrance qualification equivalent to New Zealand NCEA Level 3 or an approved international equivalent. For Engineering programmes, strong performance in Mathematics and Physics is typically required. Postgraduate applicants need a relevant bachelor's degree with minimum GPA requirements that vary by programme.
