Programme Overview

The Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) is a highly flexible, world-class degree designed to equip students with a broad understanding of modern business environments. Delivered by the triple-crown accredited University of Auckland Business School, the program combines strong analytical foundations with strategic problem-solving skills. Students explore how economies operate, how businesses scale, and how managers lead organizations in a rapidly shifting, digitally driven global marketplace.

Programme Pathways & Core Formats

The program is structured as a 360-point undergraduate framework typically spanning six semesters of full-time study. It balances broad business core requirements with deep specialization through one or two majors:

  1. The Single Major Path: Focuses intensely on one dedicated business discipline alongside a wider variety of open elective papers.
  2. The Double Major Path: Maximizes career flexibility by allowing students to complete two full business specializations within the standard 3-year timeline without adding extra points.

What You'll Study

The curriculum is divided into core business, specialized major courses, and general education modules:

  • Compulsory Business Core (Stage I): Foundational papers that every BCom student takes to establish core capabilities, covering:
    • Business and Enterprise (BUSINESS 111 & 112)
    • Accounting Information / Economics / Business Statistics
  • Specialisation Majors (12 Available Options): Students select at least one major to complete their upper-level (Stage II and III) coursework, including:
    • Accounting, Commercial Law, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, International Business, Management, Marketing, or Operations and Supply Chain Management.
  • Capstone Component (Stage III): A mandatory final-year project (e.g., BUSINESS 350) that challenges students to integrate their major-specific skills to solve real-world industry case studies.

Why Choose This Programme?

  • Triple Crown Accreditation: Study at a Business School ranked in the top 1% globally, holding prestigious AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS international accreditations.
  • Double Major Capability: Expand your career prospects seamlessly by combining complementary disciplines—like Finance with Information Systems, or Marketing with Management—under a single tuition framework.
  • Industry Connected Learning: Benefit from direct exposure to corporate partners, case competitions, networking events, and career mentorship inside the state-of-the-art Sir Owen G Glenn Building.
