Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedic)

Programme Overview

The Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedic) prepares students for a community-based career in paramedicine. It is delivered in partnership with Wellington Free Ambulance, and graduates can apply for paramedic registration with Te Kaunihera Manapou.

The programme is Level 7 (360 credits) and runs for three years full-time. The international start date for 2027 is 15 February.

What You'll Study

• Year one: mostly on campus, with clinical placement blocks.
• Year two: simulation-based learning and clinical experience.
• Year three: more clinical placements, flexible online learning, and block courses on advanced skills and professional practice.

Entry Requirements

• University entrance or equivalent academic or work experience, plus an interview, health screening, safety check and referee reports.
• Applicants must be 18 by the programme start date.
• English: IELTS (Academic) 6.5 in each band, plus proven equivalence of the entry requirements.
