Programme Overview

The Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Management is a flexible programme that extends, deepens and consolidates applied management expertise. Students build specialised business knowledge, the ability to apply it, and leadership skills for modern business and management.

The diploma is Level 8 (120 credits) and runs for one year full-time, with part-time options. Delivery is blended and designed to work around current commitments. It is a pathway to Wintec's Master of Applied Management.

What You'll Study

Students study 120 credits covering critical issues in management, design thinking and innovative entrepreneurship, managing a digital world, and leadership and managing talent. The diploma adds specialisations in business analytics and healthcare management.

Level 8 modules include: Research Methods; Research Proposal; Consulting Strategy and Practice (15 credits each)

Some modules may not run every semester because of staff availability and class sizes.

Entry Requirements

Academic: an NZQF-listed undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in Business or Management; or an undergraduate degree in a related field with at least a B-minus average, subject to assessment by the programme coordinator; or the Dean's discretion where an applicant's situation is compelling.
English: IELTS Academic 6.5 with no band below 6.0, achieved in the last two years; or PTE Academic 58 with no band below 50; or NZCEL Level 5.
